Pocket Sliders Technical

Dimensions

Manufacturers recommend that panel widths do not exceed 1800mm wide with a maximum height of 2800mm, based on a maximum weight of 200kg per panel. Contact out Technical Department for advice.

Profile

In addition to the twin or triple track, thermally broken aluminium - Grand slider, the other system types available are primarily based on the award winning concepts to that of the folding door range.

Sunflex SF50 & SF50c

The SF50 profile is constructed from a strong light weight aluminium extrusion. The minimal framework is offered as a (WE) square edge profile.

The SF50c benefits from the strength and stability provided by the aluminium and combines it with the natural charm and beauty of timber to the inside, providing the very best of both worlds with a choice of timber profile shape to suit. All timber is sourced from sustainable forests: the standard timbers are Meranti (hardwood) and Nordic pine (knot free-softwood), while other timbers such as American White Oak are available by special order.

Sunflex SF55 & SF55c

The SF55 profile is constructed from a strong aluminium extrusion, which has been thermally broken by a 24mm polyamide insulation bar, guaranteeing it optimum resistance to combat heat loss and condensation. The minimal framework is offered as a (WE) square edge profile.

The SF55c benefits from the strength and stability provided by the aluminium and combines it with the natural charm and beauty of timber to the inside, providing the very best of both worlds with a choice of timber profile shape to suit. All timber is sourced from sustainable forests: the standard timbers are Meranti (hardwood) and Nordic pine (knot free-softwood), while other timbers such as American White Oak are available by special order.

Sunflex SF65

The Sunflex 65 Timber (65mm front to back) folding sliding door system has the slimmest sightlines in Europe and truly highlights Sunflex’s commitment to quality and design. All timber is sourced from sustainable forests: the standard timbers are Meranti (hardwood), Nordic pine (knot free-softwood), while other timbers such as American White Oak are available by special order. The natural beauty of the wood is enhanced by Sunflex’s finishing techniques, resulting in a product that is comparable to high-quality furniture.

The Sunflex 65 is manufactured from triple laminated solid timber sections. These sections have been stabilised at stress points and bonded back together with opposing grains, which creates added strength whilst preventing warping and twisting.

Security

The design of the system makes it impossible to lever the panels from their tracks, the standard locking offers a very high level of security whilst providing quick, smooth and easy operation. It consists of a two-point top and bottom shoot bolt mechanism, which is incorporated into the framework and locked into position by a five-lever profile cylinder, meeting the requirements of the Association of British Insurers. Additional profile cylinders or a multi-point locking can also be added for higher security. All panels are internally glazed as standard.

Weather seals

A moderate weather rated system with rebated twin nylon brush piles separated by a fin seal, front and back to the top and bottom of the panel and a double rebated seal to the sides. This achieves DIN 18055, Category C performance for wind loading and water leakage.

Appearance

Depending upon system type designs can be customised according to your preference - the options include mid-rails, mullions, plant-on bars with dummy spacer grids, deeper top and bottom profiles and solid in fill panels, among many others.
