Electric Sliding Technical
Pitch
The roof systems works by the slope length being divided horizontally into 3 tiers. When opening the lower and centre tiers of glass slide under the top leaving an opening between the roof bars. The robust construction allows a maximum span of up to 6000mm - even greater in polycarbonate or linked modules - and can offer a clear unsupported opening span of up to 4000mm to incorporate folding sliding door or sliding door systems below. A multi-angle wall plate accommodates a roof pitch from 6° to 39°.
Ventilation
The IDS111SKY electric sliding roof has the option to be controlled by either a remote control handset or a computerised control panel, which has an outside sensor that provides three different functions:
When open, the roof will automatically close if rain or strong wind is detected. When closed, should the temperature outside become very cold the sensor will prevent the roof from being opened, causing damage to frozen seals. Furthermore should the inside temperature become uncomfortable an automatic venting position can be programmed, to a position without the risk of burglary. Thus the inside climate can be controlled manually at a touch of a button or regulate itself without the need of human intervention.
Weather seals
The system has been developed and extensively tested to withstand all possible weather conditions. The solid structure and interlinking weatherproof gasketry stands up perfectly to immense winds, wet conditions and snow loading.
Operating system
Roof panels are divided up into three tiered sections, with two sections sliding behind a fixed top section opening up to two-thirds of the roof. The panels are electronically operated by a bi-polar tubular motor, powered either by a 220-240V mains voltage or a small 24V version for swimming pool enclosures, providing smooth and virtually silent movement.
Appearance
There is a vast choice of finishes available. The standard finish is polyester powder coated to over eight different RAL colours: White, Beige, Olive Green, Forest Green, Blue, Red, Brown and Grey, other RAL colours (over 201 colours available), dual colour or wood grain effect are available for a nominal charge.

Glazing
The system can accommodate glazing of up to a sealed unit of 25mm. Our standard 24mm unit comprises of 4mm clear toughened glass with low 'e' to the inner pane x 16mm argon gas cavity x 4mm clear toughened glass to provide an enhanced thermal efficiency with a centre pane u-Value of 1.2W/m2K to comply with building regulations for safety and thermal efficiency. All sealed units are BS kite marked, manufactured to BS6206A and BS5713 standards. Alternatively, polycarbonate sheeting, clear or tinted of 16mm or a full 25mm with a centre pane u-Value of 1.5W/m2K can alternatively be requested.
Installation
All roof systems are pre-assembled in the factory to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently, at the time of installation. It should be noted that IDSystems does not undertake any site preparation, electrical or building works. Lead work and guttering can be quoted as an optional extra.
