The Sunflex 80 provides the solution with solid timber to the inside (65mm), to match the look of your room and aluminium cladding to the exterior (15mm), to match the remainder of your windows. Sunflex sets the standards with the Sunflex 80 superior thermal qualities, as the majority of competitors can merely offer an aluminium door with a internal timber cladding.

All timber is sourced from sustainable forests. The standard timbers are Meranti (hardwood) or Nordic pine (knot free-softwood), while other timbers such as American White Oak or European Oak are available by special order. The natural beauty of the wood is enhanced by Sunflex’s finishing techniques, resulting in the finished product being comparable to that of high quality furniture.

Profile
The Sunflex 80 is manufactured from triple laminated solid timber sections to the inside. These sections have been bonded back together with opposing grains, which creates added strength whilst preventing warping and twisting. The aluminium external clad has a WS (softline/rounded) edge profile to compliment with conventional aluminium or UPVC windows.

Security
The standard locking system offers a very high level of security, with a quick, smooth and easy operation. It consists of a three-point top and bottom shoot bolt mechanism, which is incorporated into the framework within each intermediate panel.
Where there are an odd number of panels, a five lever profile cylinder is fitted to the end lead door; or to the first opening pair, in an even number of panels. It can be fitted to either the inside only or both internally and externally, meeting the requirements of the Association of British Insurers.

The shoot bolt rods are manufactured in aluminium and linked by a corrosion resistant cam. In addition, they are capped with polyamide cones that prevent any damage to the track when locking, whilst compressing the panels tight against the top and bottom seals.
With all the range of Sunflex folding sliding systems you have the option of internal and/or external handles. Handles are fitted to every intermediate door panel and additional locks can be added at every handle point for higher security. For single access doors, or the lead door, a mortise lock can be fitted where a latching position is required for added convenience. Additional mortise locks can be fitted to the top or bottom of the door, if required. As an alternative to mortise locks, a multi-point espag lock can be fitted. This offers the additional benefit of multi-point locking throughout the height of the system as well as providing a latching position. This locking system is recommended for single access door heights above 2600mm.
Panic locks can be fitted for fire escapes, etc. Sunflex also offers electric latch release locks and a rollerball latch lock for commercial use.

Weather seals
The double gasket seals between the door panels are continuous and of superior quality. These have been designed in such a way to ensure there are no draughts or rattling when the doors are closed. These gaskets are finger safe, providing a buffer to prevent fingers from being trapped. The Sunflex 80 with a weathered track is a severe weather-rated system. (The system achieves DIN 18055, Category C performance for wind loading and water leakage.)

The flush track
The flush track option is recessed into the floor, providing an uninterrupted floor finish. The bottom seal between the door and the flush track is via double, twin nylon brush piles separated by a fin seal, giving an effective seal. It is recommended that some form of drainage and a slope away from the doors are integrated.

Appearance
The natural character of wood to the inside is perfectly preserved by using Sikkens micro-porous water based wood stains (i.e. they contain no harmful solvents) in a variety of stain colours. As standard Sunflex timber door systems are fully finished which consists of one basecoat and two topcoats. Clear, natural or Danish oil finishes are available upon request.
The external aluminium cladding can be finished to any special RAL colour (over 201 RAL colours available) in addition you can specify the level of paint finish. All handles are specially designed to complement the door system and are available in any RAL colour, severe weather gaskets in Black only.

Handles and hinges are made of cast alloy, handles are sprung loaded and flush fitting to enable door panels to stack flat when fully opened. Optional lever handles are available upon request for single access door or lead doors.
Large 'D' handles and automatic door closures can be fitted if required, for commercial instances. Trickle vents with an airflow equivilent to of either 2500mm2 or 5000mm2 can also be incorporated within the head profile.
