SF75 Technical
Dimensions
Manufacturers recommend panel widths do not exceed 1100mm, with a maximum height of 2800mm. Heights greater than this can be achieved, please contact our technical department for advice. The system can cater for very large openings - up to 7 metres in any one direction.
Profile
The SF75 profile is constructed from a strong aluminium extrusion, which has been thermally broken by a 44mm polyamide insulation bar, guaranteeing it maximum resistance to combat heat loss and condensation. The minimal framework is offered as a (WE) square edge profile.
The SF75c benefits from the strength and stability provided by the aluminium and combines it with the natural charm and beauty of timber to the inside, providing the very best of both worlds and with a choice of timber profile shape to suit. All timber is sourced from sustainable forests: the standard timbers are Meranti (hardwood) and Nordic pine (knot free-softwood), while other timbers such as American White Oak are available by special order.
Track options
Due to it's unique position as our most thermally efficient door, the SF75 only comes with a weather track option.
When used with an outward opening door the track can be fully recessed below your internal floor level meaning that there is no threshold to trip over, just a step down to the outside. An external deck or paving can be brought up to the track on the outside giving a very minimal diference in levels whilst maintaining a weather tight seal.
Security
Lead door or single pass door fitted as standard with a five lever key-locking cylinder, incorporating mushroom headed ESPAG bolt and shootbolts top and bottom. A central latch position can be added for convenience with a horizontal stainless steel lever handle. First opening pair (or alternative Lead door) consists of a two-point top and bottom shoot bolt mechanism. The locking system is incorporated within the framework within each intermediate panel, operated by an internal flush handle. For improved security all Sunflex folding door systems are internally glazed as standard with centre secured locking hinge pins and interlocking gaskets.
Where there are an odd number of panels, a five-lever profile cylinder is fitted to the end lead door; or to the first opening pair in an even number of panels. It can be fitted to either the inside only or both internally and externally, meeting the requirements of the Association of British Insurers.
Weather seals
The system is a severe weather rated system when used with the weathered track option, providing a top and bottom double-rebated seal. Unique triple gaskets provide a finger cushion and eliminate draughts. The system achieves EN12206-11 – Air permeability Class 4, Water tightness Class 9A (900Pa), Wind resistance Class 4
Operating system
The stainless steel running mechanisms consists of four wheels, manufactured from tough glass fibre reinforced polyamide and set around a maintenance-free sealed ball-bearing, giving a quiet, smooth operation with optimum resistance to extreme weather and temperatures fluctuations. Each wheel and guide mechanism can carry up to 200 kilograms.
The SF75 & SF75c can be adjusted to alter height and load of the system to provide a degree of tolerance. The wheels of the running mechanism run in a channel in the sides of the track rather than sitting directly on the bottom, unike many inferior systems, minimising the risk of the operating system fouling should any dirt or debris be allowed to build up in the bottom of the track.
The unique design of running gear mechanism hinged between the door panels eliminates the need for a sliding post. This achieves smoother operation, slim sightlines and larger glass area
Appearance
The SF75 system is available as standard in Silver Anodised EV1 or polyester powder coated to a semi-gloss finish; White RAL 9016, Aluminium RAL 9006, Grey Aluminium RAL 9007 or Anthracite Grey RAL 7016.
Single doors fitted as standard with Stainless Steel Lever handles with first opening pair and intermediate door panels fitted with flush handles are specially designed to complement the door system; standard colours are White RAL 9016, Black RAL 9011, Aluminium RAL 9006, Grey Aluminium RAL 9007 or Anthracite Grey RAL 7016. Gaskets are in Black, with hinges mounted within seal sightline available in White RAL 9016 or Black RAL 9011.
Other RAL colours are available with over 200 colours to choose from. One can even have different colours to the inside and outside (dual colour) or different wood grain effects are available for a nominal charge. The RAL colours can be applied to the handles and hinges if required or alternatively there is a stainless steel handle option. In addition you can specify whether a matt, semi gloss or full gloss level of paint finish is required. A Marine environment finish, required to all systems within 5000m of a shoreline or chemical swimming pool environment, is also available.
The SF75c, in addition to the external aluminum finishes listed above, has the natural character of wood cladding to the inside. Perfectly preserved by using Sikkens micro-porous water based wood stains (i.e. they contain no harmful solvents) in a variety of stain colours, standard Sunflex timber door systems are fully finished with one basecoat and two topcoats. Clear or oil finishes are available upon request.
Glazing
The system is internally glazed and can accommodate glazing ranging from 4mm clear toughened glass up to a triple glazed sealed unit of up to 58mm. Our standard comprises of a 4mm triple glazed unit with a centre pane U-value of 0.8W/m2K clear toughened glass to exceed all building regulations for safety and thermal efficiency. All units are BS kite marked, manufactured to BS6206A and BS5713 standards.
IDSystems offer a wide choice of glazing options, including manual or electrical internal venetian or pleated blinds which can be incorporated inside the glazed unit (depending upon glass specification). These are very popular, especially on internally opening systems where curtains are not practical.
